Tuscaloosa Co. school board interviews superintendent candidates | News
TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC)- The interview process began Tuesday to find the next Tuscaloosa County School Superintendent.
An interim superintendent has been in place for nearly a year after school board members couldn't find a suitable candidate after several interviews last year.
Board member Gary Mims says he's confident the board will find the next superintendent among the current five candidates.
The first of five interviews today was with Walter Davie, who has been deputy superintendent of the school system for the last 14 months. Board members asked him questions related to his management style, how he would lead the system moving forward and how he would work with those in and out of the system to help students learn, graduate and be successful in life.
There will be two interviews Wednesday and the final two Thursday. Board members say they should have a decision by the end of the month.
