TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC)- A west Alabama school damaged by the April 27 tornado is moving closer to a reopening date.

Crews continue repairing Holt Elementary School in Tuscaloosa County. The building sustained heavy damage from the tornado.

For the past five months, students and faculty have been using the old Loyd Wood Middle School to hold classes.

Contractors are working to finish repairs before the start of the fall semester.
